Full Moon is Monday, February 25 at 1:26 PM Mountain Standard Time. It would be good to focus on humor, laughter, friends, community, celebration and doing something out of the ordinary like a moonlight hike or an all night party. Honor that everything has changed and that life is totally different even though you may not be manifesting this yet on the physical plane. You must believe it first.
It is important to step back from any personal drama you may be experiencing and see the larger pattern of change. Events such as the meteor exploding over the Ural Mountains in Russia is extremely significant in resetting something in the assemblage point of the planet as it has sent a shock wave through the earth. These events are helping to set the planet on a slightly different path as well as teaching us about letting go of attachment to what we perceive as security.
Be present, be playful, be flexible, pay attention, be spontaneous, expect the unexpected, be inspired by the surprises, allow love, allow change, allow growth, and allow deep healing!

Full Moon ~ Sun in Pisces/Moon in Virgo ~ 7º
Monday, February 25 1:26 PM MST (8:26 PM Greenwich Mean Time)
Sixth house Virgo is the axis of service; twelfth house Pisces is the axis of surrender. Virgo speaks of the body; Pisces speaks of the soul. Virgo is the real; Pisces the ideal. It might be said the soul holds a record of all we think, desire and do. Virgo Full Moon brings to the light how we live our ideals. Our behavior, actions, thoughts must not be different from our desire for awakening. Out of this endeavor to manifest the spiritual comes Virgo’s reputation for honesty, integrity and purity.
This earthy Virgo Moon offers us balance for all those planets lined up together in the ultimate water sign, Pisces (Neptune, Sun, Chiron, Mars, Mercury) ~ with Venus moving to Pisces just after Full Moon, and Saturn also in a water sign, Scorpio. Pisces, as the last sign of the zodiac – the culmination, leads us back to our transcendental origins, back to our source with All That Is. We merge, dissolve imaginary boundaries, become aware of our consciousness behind our eyes looking out into physical reality. Creativity and imagination are strong in Pisces. In contact with Source, inspiration, images, messages arise from the bottomless well of the Great Mystery and provides a bridge to compassion, kindness, peace, equanimity.
The difficulties arise for Neptune-ruled Pisces merging in those deep, watery realms of the collective unconscious when they are pulled low by the overwhelming tides of human suffering, fear, confusion and hopelessness. So sensitive, so aware of the Web of Life, Pisces must draw on the lifeboats of creativity, meditation, and connection to Spirit or they end up anesthetizing their tender hearts, escaping, becoming lost in alcohol, drugs, eating, TV, media, defended illusions of every sort. Grounded service and a relationship to Spirit are the way out.
Virgo is the antidote. Ruled by mentally quick Mercury, with a highly tuned nervous system, they hold emotional overwhelm in check with a practical, hard-working attitude. Virgo is more inclined to plan, get prepared, and anticipate wayward details before they turn into problems. The reputation for perfectionism and a critical attitude really comes from their holding to high standards and expecting others to show up in the same way. Service to that which serves the needs of all or the greater good is where satisfaction lies for the Virgo. Virgo’s good judgment derives from the rulership of the intestines, which gifts them with gut-level reactions and the ability to assimilate vast quantities of information flow thanks to Mercury.
In the Full Moon chart, Mercury in Pisces as ruler of the Virgo Moon has just turned retrograde on Saturday, Feb 23 and is no longer visible in the night sky, now traveling in the underworld. (Stephanie Austin noted in the Mt. Astrologer #167, that all three Mercury retrogrades this year are in the water signs emphasizing a need to work with our feeling nature, feminine expression and inclusive and nurturing selves.) Mercury retrograde (19º) is traveling closely with Mars (18º) in Pisces. We’re in a month of access to our deepest emotional reservoirs via so much watery, receptive Piscean energy. Dreams will be enhanced, our imaginations will be fertile, passionate surrender will be available, intuition and synchronicity will be high, because now we are impressionable, empathic and at our most sensitive to communication with the invisible realms. Connect with something larger than your self ~ Nature would be a good start, spiritual practice of any kind, service to someone, something, give over and get lost in your own creative process… As we pass into the Spring Equinox and Aries influence begins later in March, that which we have fomented out of the etheric realms will begin to take form and we will move forward manifesting our visions and dreams. But not quite yet….
Ceres, all nourishing, sustaining Mother symbol, keeper of the cycles of life, death and fertility is squared the Mercury ruler and Mars in Pisces. She needs our attention. She has messages for us. As she blossoms out into Spring, honor her, bless her, and be her voice for a balanced way of life on this planet.
Jupiter, the traditional ruler of Pisces, is exactly squared the Pisces Sun and Virgo Moon (7º) forming a T-square. Our most personal core beliefs are being challenged to evolve to the global/cosmic level. We are loosening our attachments to our tribal/family consciousness and our competitive masculine attitudes regarding how we live, work, play, travel, think, communicate, feed ourselves, raise our children, etc. We are really in the soup of it now. We aren’t totally comfortable with the shift towards a new orientation of consciousness that has opened up permanently with the 2012 portal, but like the bursting forth of Spring, there’s just no stopping it. Pisces emphasis lets us benefit from the inward period when the seed is incubated below the earth, metamorphosing from a seed to a powerful, growing seedling full of strength and purpose seeking the light and then bursting above the ground with Aries and springtime.
I want to reiterate what I said at New Moon last: Vesta, Goddess of the Sacred Hearth, Keeper of the Flame of Spirit, is creating a Finger of God formation with the forces of Saturn and Pluto, our Karmic Teacher and our Transformer. Where Vesta would normally stay here a week, she is in position for a MONTH. Saturn and Pluto are in a solid sextile aspect meaning opportunity and they are in each other’s signs (mutual reception) – very strengthening. Vesta, the focal point, teaches us how to use our desire or sexual energy for a committed purpose, pushing the energy beyond the lower chakras to focus within instead of being pulled out into the world of distraction that feeds our small self. She also brings forth the sacrifice one makes to live a self-directed, inward-focused life as well as bestows the rewards of wholeness and personal integration as a result of that sacrifice. It’s also a call to invite the principles of the Sacred Feminine into our most basic structures of society – business, government, finances where we are in the throes of death and dying and desperately in need of a rebirth with a new vision.
Cultivate your watery nature in the weeks to come and heed the intuitive realms. Attend to the language of symbols. Open your heart and embrace All That Is.
